MSN wanted a sales tool to show creative agencies, media planners/buyers (including TV buyers) and advertisers that ‘Video is everywhere’ online and throughout Microsoft Advertising, both via the inline video player (MSN Video, Messenger TV), and also video within Rich Media formats.

Furthermore, that video delivers results.

Execution

Since the brief was about video, it seemed natural to use video for the execution.

Skive storyboarded, scripted, cast and filmed an actor to deliver the emphatic sales rationale, examples and research that formed the crux of the presentation. Working with MSN, we sourced relevant examples of creative use of video in advertising formats across the MSN network from many different markets – including many by Skive, which helped...

The film introduces the research and statistics on video consumption across the internet and highlights advertising opportunities across the Microsoft platform – from pre-rolls in MSN Video and Messenger TV to video within Rich Media advertising across the MSN homepage, to video wallpapers.

The whole thing is subtitled, and fully editable via XML for use in other markets and so latest figures can be easily amended.

Results

The video was very well received by both the Sales Team and the video specialists across the European markets and now is used as part of the sales process.

It is likely to be rolled out to other markets such as the US and Latin America.
