Skive developed the game using the Shockwave plug-in, which enabled us to create a more playable physics engine an immersive 3D environment similar to early console titles.
The game challenged users to complete 20 different stunts from behind the wheel of the Nissan Qashqai, before allowing users to ‘create and share’ their own levels via a level editor, as well as featuring two modes of play.
It was humorous in tone, with a deliberately lo-fi, retro feel to reflect the daft nature of the fictitious underground ‘sport’, and was fronted by ex-pro Craig ‘Pencil Sharp’ Patterson, who featured in the TWBA activity as the voice of the blogs.
This was juxtaposed with slick animated cut-scenes and the gritty photo-realistic urban backdrops with stunts ‘cobbled’ together using a variety of junk and scrap.
Every fifth level featured a ‘set piece’ stunt, with additional game play beyond the barrel rolls and nose flips of its predecessors.
